The Giraffe Manor is a small, exclusive hotel, famous for its resident herd of giraffe. It is the only place in the world where you can feed and interact with giraffes freely. The Giraffe Manor is a must stay for those visitors wishing to experience by gone age of big game hunters. In fact the manor house is modelled on a Scottish hunting lodge with great views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Ngong Hills. Giraffe Manor is commonly referred to as AFEW Centre or Giraffe Centre.

The manor house has six bedrooms at The Giraffe Manor, each with its own bathroom.

History of the manor

Built in 1932, the manor house has a long history. It was bought by Betty and Jock Leslie Merville in 1974. The same year endangered Rothchild giraffes were trans located into the property.Today the population has increased and some of them have been further trans-located to other parks.

Giraffe Manor is also headquarters of AFEW (African Fund for Endangered Species) Kenya.

Giraffe Manor is surrounded by 140 acres of indigenous forest. Within the nature trail, you are likely to come across the warthogs, birds and bushbuck.
